Well first off, its a 12 team league. Second its a custom Yahoo H2H league Here are the stats: R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, BB, FPCT, AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, NSB, CYC, SLAM, IP, W, L, CG, HR, BB, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K/9, NH, IRA, NSV
yeah...cycles, grand slams, no hitters, inherited runs allowed, etc haha. NSB is Net SB and NSV is Net SVs
ok so heres my team..I had the 8th overall pick, first 14 picks have their rounds next to them
SP-John Lackey(Yeah I know hes hurt, we drafted Friday, heard about injury Saturday...)(6) SP-Aaron Harang(7) SP-Daisuke Matsuzaka(11) SP-Rich Hill(12) SP-Dustin McGowan(14) RP-Matt Capps(13) RP-Brian Wilson RP-George Sherill P-Pat Neshek P-Octavio Dotel P-Joaquin Benoit BN-Zach Greinke BN-Scott Baker BN-Franklin Morales
What do ya think? I'm thinking about trying to trade Crawford and upgrading somewhere else maybe? I also think Atkins is more valuable as a 3b than a 1b...but I dunno hes a decent 1b option. Thoughts? Rating?

Jesus, with that many categories who the hell knows what's going to happen??
But without taking into consideration each of those 1000 categories, that looks like a pretty solid team. I'm not high on Craw, but you don't have any other solid steals guys...but steals are only 1/30th of what counts. Ditch Crawford ASAP, he's not worth round 4 or 5 in a league with these cats. He only contributes significantly in SB and AVG. Try to get as much as you can, you can get someone who can contribute a lot more in more categories.
It's a good team. Tulo was taken high, but with defense, OPS, and a bunch of those type of cats it helps to take a good defensive and a more powerful SS like Troy. I actually kind of like your thinking here in a typical speed position. Being h2h, Crawford was a bit risky. But he improves upon last year, you should be good. Atkins, Miggy, Lee, and Swisher should be beast for you. I love all those picks. They are all OPS hogs. They should get you ample walks too.
I may recommend trading Crawford as you suggested, but I would ask for a good SP and a decent OF back in return. Maybe a SP on the tier of (Myers,Burnett, and Snell) and a OF big-time sleeper like (Wells, Bay, Andruw Jones). That would be my suggestion. Those OF have potential to be OPS hogs and put up big numbers. You might have to adjust the SP tier down a little depending on where the OF went in the draft. I just know that these OF fell in my draft. I am one of the few people that are believers in bounce back years....risk involved because I am the one of the people that draft (Prior, Damon, Matsui, Randy Johnson, Beltre, Harden). Although I did avoid these guys this year, (except Harden) because they caused me headache last year.
I've played in a league similar to that before and my strategy was to forego all the power bats and draft as many of the Granderson's, Sizemores, Crawfords, etc. Basically guys that hit near the top of the lineup and get lots of hits. I won the league going away because no one was able to keep up in the hit counting categories. With this format, don't trade Crawford. If anything, trade Lee or Cabrera for players like Rollins, Reyes, or Sizemore. It goes completely against conventional wisdom, but the power bats are severely de-valued in formats like this.
Hmm, interesting thoughts all around. Does anyone else agree with Anti? I mean it sounds like a good theory, I just want a bit more input. Should I try to trade a couple of my big power guys for more 5 tool leadoff men?

It might work. I honestly don't know, since I've never played in a league with so many cats. Your team looks very balanced though. I love the M-Cab-Crawford combo. Your entire offense is very solid and I like your pitching as well. Sucks that Lackey got hurt, but keep your eye on the WW for pitchers to help you until he comes back.
Thanks for the help on mine. I've never played in a league with so many categories, it really makes you think differently about who you want on your team.
I think what Anti said makes a whole lot of sense. I'd hang onto Crawford and maybe try to move Lee. Good luck.
