Adrian Gonzalez Home/Away Splits

I really love Adrian this season, he has been improving every year and I think he is a 35 hr threat this season. However, how much does it hurt him that he has to play at PETCO?

I mean..look at his home/away splits

Home : .266, 10 HR, 36 RBI

Away : .295, 20 HR, 64 RBI

Does it get to the point where you almost have to bench him at home?

How much would his value increase if he moved out of PETCO?

Significantly...if you have a decent backup 1B with daily roster moves, benching him is definitely something to think about.

While Petco does hurt his offensive stats, it's not as bad as last years stats make it out to be. To be honest 300 AB is still a small sample size and there are a lot of variables that really can't be taken into account as to why his splits last year were so different. For example look at his 2006 splits ...

Home: 274ab 10hr 38rbi .296avg
Away: 296ab 14hr 44rbi .311avg

In any case if you have a good back up (probably in a more shallow league) it might be worth it. Though if your afraid of his splits I'd probably suggest taking a different 1b all together.
