TSN basic salary cap game

I've never played it before, but thought i'd give it a try this year. Looking things over, would it make sense to get a few undervalued stars (vlad, A-Rod and Pedro all look under priced) and then get a few inexpensive steals (Reyes espicially looks to be worth more then you pay). If you get the right guys, wouldn't your team value go up, thus inableing you to get more studs?

would this stragey make sense, or should I go after the most well rounded team from the start, no matter who is under and overvauled?

I've played it in football and the goal is definitely to go for value...pick up guys after they have a 3 HR game, etc. Go for the deals until your team worth is real high and then fill up on the studs.

the basic game gets stupid very quickly because people buy trades. no matter how well you play, its impossible to win any money because of this trade-buying. you are better off plopping down the $12 for a ultimate FBB team. the game is a lot of fun and if you win your division you win $50 i did last year.

That's true, I played it when it was Smallworld and you didn't have to pay extra for trades...
