Franklin Morales

The other day Keith Law wrote that Morales was "unimpressive" so far and that is velocity was down to 86-91 from 94-97 last season. Today he got hit hard for 9 runs in 2.2 IP.

For young prospects, is this a bad sign long term? Do young pitchers frequently fluctuate with pitch velocity?

I own Morales in a deep keeper league, and I am wondering what this means to his future. I am not as concerned about his performance this year, as long as the potential is still there.

I wouldn't be too worried about Morales right now. He also got off to a slow start last year. His velocity is something to keep an eye on, especially because he's been known to hit 99 at times. However, I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet.
