Just finished a draft - What do you think?

Postby suckerpuncher » Fri Mar 14, 2008 5:36 pm

Just did my latest draft.

It's a 14 team H2H league with the following stats: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS - W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP
I drafted 13th overall.

Here's the result by rounds:
1. Alfonso Soriano CF
2. David Ortiz 1B
3. Lance Berkman 1B,OF
4. Adam Dunn OF
5. Ian Kinsler 2B
6. Francisco Rodríguez RP
7. Roy Oswalt SP
8. Ryan Zimmerman 3B
9. Jeff Francoeur OF
10. Javier Vázquez SP
11. Matt Cain SP
12. Eric Gagne RP
13. J.J. Hardy SS
14. Jered Weaver SP
15. Jeff Francis SP
16. Adam Wainwright SP
17. Brian Fuentes RP
18. Mike Napoli C
19. Jon Rauch RP
20. Mark Prior SP

This is what the team looks like by position:

C - Mike Napoli (LAA - C)
1B - David Ortiz (Bos - 1B)
2B - Ian Kinsler (Tex - 2B)
3B - Ryan Zimmerman (Was - 3B)
SS - J.J. Hardy (Mil - SS)
CF - Alfonso Soriano (ChC - CF)
OF - Lance Berkman (Hou - 1B,OF)
OF - Adam Dunn (Cin - OF)
Util - Jeff Francoeur (Atl - OF)

SP - Roy Oswalt (Hou - SP)
SP - Javier Vazquez (CWS - SP)
RP - Francisco Rodriguez (LAA - RP)
RP - Eric Gagne (Mil - RP)
P - Brian Fuentes (Col - RP)
P - Jon Rauch (Was - RP)
BN - Matt Cain (SF - SP)
BN - Jered Weaver (LAA - SP)
BN - Jeff Francis (Col - SP)
BN - Adam Wainwright (StL - SP)
BN - Mark Prior (SD - SP)

I could maybe need another BN hitter but probably not before Prior is on the DL.

What do you think of the team?

You've got great offense but I'd upgrade at catcher if you can, maybe trade one of your starters. I would also get a deeper bench, Zimmerman has been hurt a bit this spring, they say it's nothing to worry about but......

I'm with the other poster, definitely trade one of those starters for some offensive depth.
somebody who can steal some bases.

I was offered to trade away Wainwright for Casey Blake which I don't really like.

Or I can trade a SP for Kouzmanoff since one guy has too much BN hitters and a lack of SP thanks to the autodraft feature.
