MCab always over Howard. I have MCab ahead of Rollins, Utley too.

I think Cabrera outperforms Howard anyway (M-Cab's a power spike away from becoming an annual Triple Crown threat), but when you throw in the fact that 1B runs about 14 deep in decent options in a 12-teamer, it seems like this shouldn't be debated.

I like to win with balance, and I think 4-category production is underrated. I'm pretty much just doing keepers now, but I wouldn't lose sleep about taking Cabrera 2nd overall this year.

Exactly... ARod, Reyes, Wright, Hanley, Utley, and Holliday are givens to be ahead of them, with Pujols and Rollins also to have good shots to get ahead of them, and Santana as a wildcard if Rollins or Pujols falls to 11 or 12.

Could/would I take MCab (or Howard) ahead of several of these guys? Definitely... I'd hate to have the #3-5 pick this year, because I'd have a hard time explaining why I'm torn between Reyes/Hanley and MCab or Wright.

My ideal pick this year is either 1, 2, or 6-7. One or two I'm happy taking ARod or Wright, and at 7+ I feel comfortable taking MCab.

M-Cab for me . He's so much better in average, and he'll score quite a few more runs. Average and runs are much harder to get later in the draft than homeruns and rbis . And with Cabrera now with the Tigers, the difference in rbi's should shrink considerably. So that leaves homeruns. Sure Howard will hit more, but I think M-Cab is just now entering his prime years. I think his power will increase.
And also M-Cab has much better protection in the lineup . Better than last year, and he's also got better protection than Howard does.
And I also like more 1st basemen than 3rd basemen for getting after the first round. I don't think 1st base is real deep, but it's deeper than 3rd base.
