16 team 7 (TB's, K's) x 5 keeper auction league. $250 salary cap, keep up to 8. there are a total of 76 players being kept, or about 5 per team. a lot of these were bad mistakes imo, as I calculate the total 'profit' for all keepers at only $190 for the entire league. b/c of league rules, almost none of the marquee stars are being kept, so of the top 20 or so players, almost all are available. anyways, here is my team heading into the draft:
C: OPEN
1b: OPEN
2b: $4 Kelly Johnson
3b: $5 Edwin Encarnacion
SS: OPEN
OF1: $19 Chris B Young
OF2: $4 Corey Hart
OF3: $6 Hunter Pence
UT1: OPEN
UT2: OPEN
Bench 1: OPEN
SP1: $9 Tim Lincecum
SP2: $6 Brad Penny
SP3: $6 Phil Hughes
SP4: OPEN
SP5: OPEN
RP 1: OPEN
RP 2: OPEN
RP 3: OPEN
RP 4: OPEN
I have spent $59 on 8 positions, leaving me $191 to spend on the remaining 11 starters and 1 bench player. I have a theoretical profit of $60 ish, leaving me with some room to overpay for marquee guys. here what I want to spend it on:
C: either Soto or Towles or any undervalued guy for $5 ish
1b, SS, UT1 and UT2: spend about $145 on these 4 positions, hopefully landing 4 tier 1 guys. this should buy at least 3 tier 1 guys, and I'll spend whatever is left on the 4th.
spend $30 on 4 relievers, hopefully getting 2 cheap closers for $25, and either their backups or other closers in waiting for another $5 (for 2 guys). I won't overspend on closers though
spend $10 on 2 more SP's #4 ish SP's
with the remaining money ($2 or $3), buy a good sleeper candidate at my bench spot. I would love love love to grab a Milledge or Kemp with this money, but I will spend it on whatever sleeper I can find.
sound good?
that leaves me with about $60 spend on pitching, $190 on hitting.
