C - Russell Martin 1B - Prince Fielder 2B - Orlando Hudson 3B - Ryan Braun SS - Michael Young OF - Andruw Jones, Delmon Young, Johnny Damon Util - Aramis Ramirez Bench - Cameron Maybin
SP - Cole Hamels, John Lackey RP - Jose Valverde, Kerry Wood P - Tony Pena, Joel Zumaya, Joaquin Benoit Bench - Kelvim Escobar, AJ Burnett, Pedro Martinez, Oliver Perez
Obviously I would like more closers, I will have to keep my eye open for free agency gems. I like my lineup but I'm trying to trade Ramirez for a SP so I can throw Maybin in there for steals. What suggestions? Can I fix this team?
If you are serious about this being a autodraft, then you are lucky because that team is pretty damn good for an autodraft. I would move Braun and play Ramirez at 3B. You can easily get an elite OF for Braun. A Soriano or Beltran plus something else.
You definitely do not need anymore starting pitching. For an autodraft that is ridiculously good. Lackey, Hamels, Burnett, Pedro, Perez, Escobar??? That is solid. The only thing that I would improve is maybe getting someone in place of johnny damon. He is no longer a fantasy player. There are so many decent closers that are in free agency so I would drop Pena and Benoit and keep an eye on the ww. Escobar=hurt, Burnett=DL All-star, Pedro=due atleast 2 DL stints this year, Ollie=definately will regress. You have big problems past Lackey and Hamels. Wood isn't the closer, neither is Pena, Zumaya is hurt and Beniot might be battling Guardado for closer duties. Your pitching is a mess. Like the previous post, try and pick up one of those relievers mentioned if they're still available. Zumaya,Wood, and Benoit shouldn't be on anyone's roster unless they've been confirmed as closers.
A-Ram could possibly net you a #2 starter like Haren,Smoltz, or Oswalt. Or maybe you can try to package A-Ram and one of your injury prone starters for Kazmir,Bedard, or Webb (lucky if you do).

Thanks for advice, I am trying to clean up my pitching and will have to keep an eye out for closers. I disagree about Damon no longer being valuable to fantasy team. He is the lead-off hitter for the best lineup in baseball and reported to camp in way better shape, Girardi had a long convo. with him and Abreu and made sure they got off their asses in the off-season. I'm big on both of them this year.
