Minor League Draft Help?

Postby JRM4833 » Thu Mar 13, 2008 10:49 am

Who do you like long term in an OPS based, H2H points league?

Chris Marrero, 1B
Desmond Jennings, OF
Ching Lung Hu, SS
Josh Vitters, 3B
Matt Antonelli, 2B
Hyun Choi 'Hank' Conger, C
Johnny Cueto, SP
Deolis Guerra, SP
Brett Andeson, SP
Jarrod Parker, SP

I have Fielder and Hanley locked up somewhat longterm (and no Util slot in this league), but feel I should still go for the best value on the board. I also love SPs in this league because of the weekly lineups (and consequently the 2 start weeks). Any help would be appreciated.

I'd go with Desmond Jennings. Jarrod Parker is a close second. They both still have a long way to go though.

Marrero is the best bat available but he'll be playing 1b and that's obviously locked up with Fielder. After that, Jarrod Parker should be well worth the wait but if you're willing sacrifice long term potential for more immediate impact, you can go with Johnny Cueto. I'm not sure about taking Jennings over any of those guys in a OPS league since he's basically a speed guy right now. Vitters is also a consideration.

Marrerro--should be a monster in a OPS league
Jennings--OPS league drops his value considerably

I'd go:

1. Marrero
2. Vitters
3. Jennings

Marrero will have the best potential in an OPS league.

in an OPS league i like Marrero but as it has been mentioned the Nats moved him to 1B. Jonny Cueto is an interesting option as many peopel like him more than Homer Bailey. I also like Parker and Guerra.
