shelton is actually on the rangers now, though he has very little chance to make the team (poor performance in ST for a reserve role).
but yeah salty probably is going to be in AAA for defensive work. Disappointing for anyone that drafted him, but not a big deal for a 22 year old (i think) prospect that just needs to do a little work. He will be back later this season. If laird does well, its a lock the rangers will trade him. If laird sucks, well then salty comes back anyway.

Salty is going to be soooo overrated this season. As of now, he doesn't even have a clear path to 100% playing time and will have to bounce around between a few positions. Maybe in 2009, but not in 2008 for me.
