Josh Fields

What are your projections for him this year? I took him late in my draft thinking that he could be a good source of power, but ive heard that he might start the year in AAA. Thoughts?

Check out the 2008 Predictions Forum. There are at least 2 Josh Fields' threads over there that I can recall.

And I'm pretty sure that Guillen has already said he'll be starting at 3B over Crede. I can't imagine him starting at AAA even if her were to have a piss poor ST.

Kenny Williams is on record as saying that both Fields and Crede won't make the big club...either Crede gets dealt, or Fields ends up in the minors, (or i suppose Fields could get dealt, thought that seems unlikely). Apparently any thought of moving Fields to the outfield is out of the question. So, unless they find a taker for Crede (san fran or the dodgers?), he will probably make the club, and at least be there until they can trade him for something and bring Fields up. The thing is, they've got no value in Crede right now, since he just came off back surgery, and has yet to really do anything with the bat. So there's no way to trade him and get any value, so they're kinda stuck with him at 3rd. I don't know how long it might be before they can get some established value in him in order to trade him, but however long it takes, that's how long Fields will be in the minors, in all likelihood.

I've been following the whole thing very very closely.

Given that, I'm afraid there's nothing substantial to report. It's anyone's guess what role Fields serves this season.
