If you have a minor leaguer and they go past the rookie numbers (130/50) you can keep them as a 24th rounder and each year it goes up one round. I had Gordon when he was a rookie so now he costs me a 23 and will only go up one round every year so its a bargain.

Now my question:

Would you rather have one of these guys instead of Brignac?

We can bid on any player during the year with a set amount we can spend for the whole year to replace anyone on our farm team at anytime. Thing is, you don't want to have to hold onto someone for a while because you are wasting a chance to have a solid keeper for the next year.

I would take most of those guys over Brignac, but that's just me. A lot of those guys are going to be in the majors before Brignac, or have a higher ceiling.

What order would you take them in

I'd cut Brignac for either McGee or Cueto. I view them as pretty similar but it really depends upon whether you trust the guy pitching in the AL East or the guy pitching at Great American and managed by Dusty Baker more. I'd lean towards Cueto because he should have a better opportunity to make a 2008 impact.

Porcello is a great talent but you don't really want guys more than a year away when you only have 3 guys in your minor league system.

I'd go based on need for position players, but my top 3 would be pitchers.

Honestly though, its Porcello and it's easy for me. When you only have so many minor league options take the best high end talent you can find. Porcello (though it may be half hype) was said to be the best H.S. arm since Beckett and will start in High A this year. He has done nothing but impress so far and McGee/Cueto both have question marks regarding them as wether or not they can be 1/2's. Obviously Porcello hasnt pitched in the minors yet but I personally cant ever pass on that type of talent.
