Evan Longoria

Postby Coltswc » Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:56 pm

Hes been looking good so far in spring training at least better than willy Aybar, I was just wondering if anybody knew any up to date sources that might give a hint about if hes going to be starting in the MLB or AAA. (hes currently my projected 3rd base starter so I need info to see if I need to start scouring the waivers for another one) thx

Well it might have been a good idea to draft a backup 3B in case, your not going to hear if he is starting towards later in the spring but with the stats hes posting I don't see why he shouldn't start.

Still, I would play the safe card and add a third basemen as a backup just in case.

I would take a lot of guys at 3B over Mr. Longoria including Enarcion and Blalock.

you should be fine then, my understanding is that the 3B job is Evans to lose and hell most likely be on the Opening Day roster. i like Glaus this year hes healthy and a change of scenery couldnt hurt. Even if Longoria is the next Alex Gordon you should be ok

My main source for depth charts has Longoria listed as the starter, Rototimes. MLB does not.

There is an article on the Ray's MLB site stating the decision hasn't been made but I think it's manager speak.

I'm thinking it would make sense to draft a 3B/OF on your bench as a backup to Evan. Gordon comes to mind. Who else?

I think that if you have Gordon you need to start him over Longoria. I think Encarnacion, Blalock, and Longoria are all on about the same level at the moment so having two of the three would be good.
