Hopefully this is the correct forum for this post.

In my draft last night, as expected, I missed out on the top catchers and then ignored the position until the end. In one of the final rounds I grabbed Salty. I know I've read that he might start the season in AAA and that he is competing with Laird for time at C. He's also going to be playing some 1B?

I guess my question is, does anyone have any recent info on how things are going for him? Should I expect that he is not going to be an every day player and get another C?

i'm not too worried about salty. he could play C, 1B, or DH. and he's probably the rangers best option at all 3. they traded their best player for him - i highly doubt they to send him back to AAA 11-months after his call-up.

Like a poster earlier mentioned in this thread, once Salty is called up, he is here for good barring any crazy disasters. You should be fine (Laird is crap and will lose the job quickly)

Salty's the man. They specified then that they would trade Teix for a young, major league ready guy...they have no intention of keeping him in the minors. I took him later too, and was happy about it.
