A standard roto league in yahoo, I believe I was the third pick.

C-J. Lopez
1b-M. Teixiera
2b-M. Giles
3b-M. Lowell
SS-M- Tejada
OF-V. Guerrero, J. Edmonds, J. Damon
Util/Bench- J. Vidro, H. Matsui, C. Patterson

SP-P. Martinez, M. Mussina, J. Affeldt, G. Meche, J. Williams, R. Harden, B. Anderson.

RP- M. Macdougal, B. Koch, M. Timlin

Not half bad huh? 'specially if the career years by Giles Lowell and Lopez are repeated

Obvious weakness must be speed and another solid closer, I'm thinking that Vidro should draw substantial trade weight and either Matsui or Patterson will step up enough for Edmonds to be expendible towards this pupose.

All thoughts welcome.

Yes, looks like you could some more RP help; I noticed with my autopick draft that several RP were far down in the rankings and didnt get drafted... look for Chacon, Rhodes, Graves in your waiver pool. Good Luck!

Like most people who post teams, your hitting is solid but your pitching definately leaves room for improvement. All you got for starters is Pedro and Moose and a bunch of fairly unproven young guns. Relief pitching is also weak and theres a very good chance you could have 0 closers.

I wonder why the autodraft tool is so bad at picking up closers? Or maybe it's because we all know that they rate the closers too high so other people are getting them early leaving us with nothing? :-?

The only closers that seem to get picked up are guys that had 35 saves with low ERAs. Closers get moved around so much, it can be hard for guys to pile up enough stats for Yahoo to rate them high enough (that's why middle relievers always go so early--low ERA and WHIP). Macdougal and Denny Kolb (who is VERY good and unkown, check out his stats last year in less than a full year's work) were still available in my league, and I got two other guys on the Bosox and Phils who have no chance in hell of closing. Go figure.

Maybe if you trade Matsui and a SP for RP and a 1B

Offense looks good but you are going to need to trade some of it for pitching.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.
