Ryan Braun: Where to draft? (Merged)

personally, i see people pick him early second round (14-16th pickish) and some drafts late third round (32-35th pickish)



what is your personal opinion about his production this year and where is the right place to pick him?

He's going way too high for my liking so I'm shying away. If for some reason he fell into the 3rd round i'd definitely grab him there.

He will likely regress because well he was as good as ARod from May on.

I like him in the 2nd round, much better pick than Upton in my opinion. I wouldn't take him over a guy like Soriano or Sizemore but when you get to the more flawed lower upside guys in the 2nd round I'd consider him. So for me probably something like #18 or so.

12 team league I'll take him in the 3rd round.....with that said I won't end up with him on my team since I've never seen him make it past the second round.

I'd take him the same way. I was really tempted to take him 14th in a slow draft I'm doing but we're counting strikeouts so Vlad was too good to pass over.

I don't have a problem taking him in the second round. There are a bunch of second rounders who are flawed in one way or another. Beltran and Sizmore have BA concerns, Vlad no longer steals bases, etc. -of those guys in the second round mix Braun probably has as much if not more upside and is best suited to have balanced Roto game.

If I drafted Reyes in the first I might be more hesitant since you really need a big bat to carry your power numbers so you might want to go for the more sure-thing in that case.
