if a-rod is eligible at short and third in yahoo, does he HAVE to play 5 games @ SS for him to be eligible? how does this work if you draft him as a SS?

I wouldn't think he would be eligible at 3B since he hasn't played there before until he's played what the number in Yahoo 15 or 20 at the position. Could lose SS eligibility for 2005.

Correct.

You can draft A-Rod and he'll be eligible to play at SS.

Likewise for Jose Reyes. He'll be eligible to play SS even though he's switching over to 2nd Base.

In Yahoo A-Rod will have to play 15 games at 3B before they will make him eligible there.

With Yahoo, players never lose eligibilty during the season. If A-Rod is listed as SS, he will not lose eligibility there this year. However, if he doesn't play enough games at SS this year, he won't qualify NEXT year as SS. Also, you will not be able to put him in your lineup at 3B until he plays (as Ironman said) 15 games at the hot corner. If you plan on using him at 3B, you will have to draft another 3B to hold down the fort for a while.
