After registering for my Live drafts yeaterday, I did this autopick draft just for fun, and to have a team to mess with untill next weeks Yahoo live drafts. I did not rank any starting pitchers on purpose, just to see what kind of hitters and closers I could get. This team was just an expirement. I am loaded with out fielders, and closers. I plan to trade a couple of closers and out fielders for some starters. This is the team that the computer drafted for me.
C-M.Lecroy(C,1B)
1B-A.Huff(1B,RF)
2B-J.Vidro(2B)
3B-D.Young(3B,LF)
SS-A.Cintron(3B,SS)
OF-C.Beltran(CF)
OF-V.Guerrero(RF)
OF-V.Wells(CF)
Util-C.Craford(LF)
BN-C.Jones(LF)
BN-R.Baldelli(CF)
BN-R.Durham(2B)
Ok, I want to keep one bench fielder. And I want to keep 3RP, and my 2SP eligible closers. This leaves me 6 players to trade for some starters. I would like to also upgrade my SS position as well. Who should I keep, and who should I trade for some starting pitchers?
Very interesting draft. Nice hitting but pitching is a definate question mark. For lots of your closers you won't get much in return but try to ship Guardado, Percival, Graves definately, and possibly Benitez and Chacon. Eddie, Percy and Graves likely won't hang on to their jobs throughout the whole season so you may wanna ship them off. The other two guys are risky but decent. Still trade them for some starters.
Ok, so far I have droped Durham, and picked up A.Burnett from the waiver wire(I hope the commish gives him to me). I also proposed a trade to a guy, I give him Chipper for Wade Miller.
That still doesn't solve your closer problem. You can't start all your relievers which is going to hurt you. You have gotta ship away those guys for mediocre to decent starters.

Those aren't good moves. Burnett just had surgery, and Chipper's a solid OF, whereas Miller had a sub-par 2003. Plus, I think you might be better off going with all your closers. Have people come to you with trade offers.
I believe this could work out for you. Just dont get worried too quick and drop any of your players for pitchers on the waivers. Make sure you get value in your trades.
There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.
Assuming this is a H2H league, I think it would be interesting to see how your team does if you kept all seven closers and started them every day. You would easily qualify for the min. innings in a default yahoo league with all of those closers.
I'm not suggesting you do it...just curious to see what would happen, lol.
I doubt it would be too successful because all it would take was one bad appearance by a closer and your ERA and WHIP would be shot to heck.
