What closers is everyone targeting?

The forgotten man seems to be Sherrill. He had a breakthrough season in 07 and could really surprise. His competition is Jamie Walker, Greg Aquino and Chris Ray if/when he returns in July.

For the money, he is probably one of the best bargains around at any position. I grabbed him with the 205th overall pick in the 20 team league last week and hoping to get him that late in my money league tomorrow.

Yeah, I agree here. Sherrill could be a great late round pick. My league only starts one closer and I won't go after the top ones like Papelbon, Putz, KRod, etc. I like to wait as late as possible and this year I will be hoping for one of the following:

Corpas
Soria
Sherrill
Capps
Soriano (his injury history worries me somewhat)

Depending on how my draft goes, I would also consdier grabbing Marmol, Broxton or Bell to stash away on my bench.

I wasn't aware that Wilson was out either. Well, I was, but I was under the impression he was day to day and would be back soon. I just drafted him.

Since I don't usually draft closers until late I have been taking Soria and Soriano. I also have been taking flyers on Wood and Betancourt.

He said late closers. Putz is the first closer off the board in most fantasy drafts.

I know everyone hates Lidge, but I think he is a great option for where he is going.

He gets a ton of K's, I think people forget that

Brian Wilson is a good guy to get in the last rounds, he was dominant last year, I know it's not a huge sample size though. SF might be terrible, but when they win, the games will be close so he should get save opps.

Manny Corpas is a good pick simply because he was filthy in the 2nd half and has the stuff to be that filthy and the Rockies will give him Chances.

Capps is nice but the Bucs aren't gonna give him as many chances as the Rockies will Corpas


Soriano is nice simply because he has no competition as long as he stays healthy

The guy I really like is B.j. Ryan. He is coming off TJ surgery, but now, that makes guys better, not worse. He is a steal at 251(Y ranking) and i would be more than please to gamble on him late.


Oh yeah, and Joe Borowski simply because I have stock in Tums.
