No pitchers and a points league huh? Should I crack a joke about football here?
Kidding, kidding, I like fantasy football as well (and won my first championship in a keeper this year - BOOYAH! ), so all is good.
Another nice piece!
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
good stuff. That last bit about your conversation was pretty funny, " you sound like a jerk off" LOL! Anyways, good luck this season, I'm sure after playing fantasy baseball you will look upon the beginning of football season with disdain like the rest of us

I'm in a similar league to the one you describe. As a reluctant fantasy baseball player, I'm finding that I'm suprisingly excited by the impending draft. The scoring is straight forward, which allows me to evaluate players accurately even though I haven't been following baseball closely for 10 years or so. To me, that's the beauty of this kind of scoring set - it makes reasearching and understanding the value of players easier for people like me.
Oh, and coincidently, my league also drafts this Sunday. Do you mind forwarding along this "top preformers" spreadsheet that you speak of? I can use all the help I can get.
Thanks for the feedback guys. it is a little too much like football (though that was the original point). Now that I'm writing this column though, I'm going to join a 5x5 roto league, so i can better reflect peoples experience. Glad you enjoyed it, I hope you will keep reading and tell your leaguemates and friends.
Flying Wasp, email me (heyrooknicepiece@live.com) and I'll happily send you my spread sheet. If you turn out to be one of my leaguemates (which I'm suspicious you might be), more power to you for exerting such effort to exercise this ruse.
How does your free agent pool look? In a league as big as yours, it seems like the waiver wire is going to be key for getting production out of the thin outfield crop this year.
