From Sportsline:
News: The White Sox will open the season with rookie Alexei Ramirez starting in center field, according to MLB.com. He hit .358 with two home runs in 67 at-bats this spring.
Analysis: Ramirez will likely man center only until Jerry Owens can return from a tear in his groin. The Cuban can also man a few infield positions, though, so he has plenty of value in AL-only leagues. Mixed-league owners shouldn't completely keep him off their radar either.
If he hits better than Uribe, and thats not much askin, he will start even after Owens gets back. And if his OBP is good enough he could hit first or second. But in that lineup only the 3-4 is set in stone.

The only at-bat I saw him get all Spring he struck out and looked bad doing it. Still, I'm fairly high on this guy, and if he can do so well against what seems to be typically good Cuban pitching, I have few doubts he'll be at the least serviceable in MLB.
Assuming they can find him some PT, he should be a good backup this year, or by mid-season a decent injury replacement. Next year, who knows? The guy could be worth a look in Keeper leagues (which mine is, which is why I picked him up last week).
