10 team roto, WHIR

Postby cornellunited » Wed Mar 05, 2008 6:42 pm

This is a 10 team 5x5 roto league, i feel as though I did well and got a couple steals in the draft(alex rios in the 6th round), anybody with suggestions? I'm tryign to trade for R. Soriano since I have a lot of depth on my bench. I just wish I hadn't drafted Pence on accident, do you think he will have a good season?

any thoughts? I just got offered...

My Miguel Cabrera

for his

Chone Figgins
Mike Lowell

I'd have to drop someone but I do need help with steals.

Definitely DONT take that deal. Your giving up the best player by far, and I'm not banking on a repeat year from lowell. I'm not a big fan of Uggla, his average is really going to drag you down. You definitely have some depth on your bench. I'd look to package adrian and uggla for some steals. I wouldn't be concerned about pence unless he finds a rogue sliding door in the middle of the base paths...

those sneaky sliding doors around 2nd. What if I replaced Lowell with someone like Brandon Webb.

I am also perfectly fine with Trading Uggla and playing Kelly Johnson because I am quite the Brave homer and I need at least 1 Brave on my team to root for fantasy wise also

You've got plenty of power but are lacking a real solid base-stealer. Rios, Pence and Renteria will net you some, but I might look to move a bat like Matsui or Thome and try to land someone like Victorino if possible.

I really like your starting pitching as you have a very solid 1-2-3 and Perez and Lilly are solid. You're lacking in the closer department a bit, but I wouldn't be very concerned about that as long as you keep an eye on the waiver wire.

Overall, I think this is a solid team. Trade some of that power for some speed and it will be very balanced. Nice job.

I just pulled off a trade for John Lackey and I gave up Matsui. Matsui would really be a bench player for me anyway because I could play either Thome or Gonzalez at my util spot, so as far as I'm concerned I just picked up a top 10 pitcher for nothing, am I right in that reasoning?
