13 team 5x5 Roto League Auction - WHIR

Postby Barcalounger » Tue Mar 04, 2008 3:50 pm

13 team 5x5 Roto league auction with a $260 cap and weekly lineups. I didn't plan on getting Arod and Utley, but I got pretty good value on them according to my cheat sheet so I guess I'll have to live with my crappy OF. What do you guys think? Leave a link and I'll respond.

Actually your OF is not that bad, I mean yes Coco/Cust won't give you much, but it's not terrible. I'd be more concerned about getting any production whatsoever from those 2 catchers you have. I like your pitching, at least Wagner/Myers/Street/Webb. Some of the other guys are solid, mid-expectation guys. The only guy of your $0 picks who has a chance at doing anything of value is Garza. Maybe consider moving Zimmerman for a big bat in the OF?

I've never done an auction draft but I think it's great that you got Utley and ARod. You can probably fill in the holes in your OF through the waiver wire whereas picking up a quality 2B would be a little more difficult. I'm not a big fan of your SP's except for Webb and Myers. I'd agree that you could trade Zimmerman and/or Uggla for some help at OF or SP. Your closers are solid, obviously, and I like your reserves.

Your infield is great, and your OF is not as bad as you may think esp because OF is a scarce position this year. Crisp and Cust are good canidates to be replaced on the waiver wire. Your pitching staff is OK but you have AROD and UTLEY and a pretty good supporting cast ;-D

I'll respectfully disagree with the above, I think all your $0 guys have a chance to do good things this except maybe church. I actually like Butler to start for you over Crisp, so that just leaves a crappy Cust, but he'll probaby be valuable for a week or two out of the season. . . :)

You catchers are crappy, but they aren't without upside. The catcher position seems like your most pressing though.

All in all I think you're in decent shape.
