Corey Patterson definitely does not clog bases so Dusty will love him. :-/

I think it's more mid-2008 at the moment. He will just beat up AAA to the point where they can't put it off. Patterson will likely have periods were he sucks and Griffey will be hurt or traded.

I'm wholly on board with this assessment. He will go down for a while......but not for long because he won't give them much of a choice.

He'll be up in 08 if he is playing well especially when rosters expand to 40 .

Bruce becoming a September callup would be quite the travesty.Hopefully he just plays Patterson for a month and then calls up Bruce sometime in May because he seems to realize whats in the best interests on the team, now and for the future, when he said that Scott Hatteberg is like 38 and Votto is clearly the future.

It's still funny that they signed that leadoff guy who steals bases but has trouble cracking a .700 OPS.

I honestly think it depends on how the Reds start the season. If they start hot it doesn't matter how bad Patterson is. As long as they are winning Bruce will be in AAA.

Bruce needs a bit more seasoning in the minors, and the possible extra year of non free agency eligibility should appeal to the Reds fans as well. I imagine we see him before June though if he has any kind of year like he did last year in the minors.

I don't know if this makes you feel better or worse, but actually he is. He is in the batch of players we added last night.
