Marquis for Crisp is laughable.
Why would Roberts drive in less runs? Is the bottom of the Orioles lineup better then the bottom of the Cubs?
Yes, considering the Cubs have the pitcher hitting 9th.

I don't know...if Marquis wins a starting pitching job that's two of the best hitting pitchers in baseball in front of Roberts.
That said, Ted Lilly and his 0.149 obp probably balance that out a bit.
Very good point about the steals. Do you think that had anything to do with Soriano's decresed steals & may have a negative effect should Roberts go to Chicago?????

The Cubs aren't against running...Soriano's decreased steals were due to his injuries.
I think the Red Sox will be fine with Buccholz, Lester and new signee Colon at the back end of the staff. They should relax.
The cubs sure they need another speedy option? Theriot nad Soriano make a good threat at the top of the lineup.
Roberts could help them I guess, but I've never been that enthused with their SP rotation or depth. They have some decent OF prospects (Patterson, Pie etc) they could use but they need to be careful. Its hard to find a trade partner during spring training. Its been too long, they are obviously at an impasse or scouting prospects right now.
It has been a good amount of time since I've read or heard anything on the matter.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

I don't think the Red Sox have any interest in Jason Marquis and they aren't going to trade Crisp just for the sake of trading him.
According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox have displayed no interest in Jason Marquis or outfielder Sam Fuld in a potential Coco Crisp deal with the Cubs. The Red Sox would likely request either Sean Marshall, whose twin brother they drafted in 2003, or Sean Gallagher as part of a Crisp deal. Marquis can eat innings, but he's not someone who figures to be of much use on an American League contender. Fuld is strictly reserve material.
Mar 14 Gordon Wittenmyer, of The Chicago Sun-Times, is reporting the Chicago Cubs are offering P prospect Jose Ceda, IF Ronny Cedeno, P Donnie Veal and SP Sean Gallagher to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for 2B Brian Roberts.

The link to KFFL and the whole KFFL website isn't working to confirm and I don't see this listed anywhere else...wonder if there is any validity to this.
