i like your team, especially the pitching...and replacing hardy with bourn at your utility takes care of being light on speed...bourn might be the fastest player in baseball
your hitting is pretty solid. I think you should upgrade in the pitching department. you don't have a bona fide ace. you could use a guy that gets some more Ks.
Offense: Very good, and well rounded. Howard and Rollins (presumably your first two picks) gave you a nice, diverse base to build on. I agree that maybe an elite speed guy would be helpful, but who knows, Bourn might turn out to be that guy.
Pitching: There's a lot of upside here, but also a lot of question marks. It looks like your success may hinge on whether the young arms pan out and the injury risks stay healthy. Your staff reminds me a lot of my own:
Let's see- nice offense- Love your outfield, corners. Rollins is a stud, although last year was his peak performance IMHO. Pudge is headed for a decline, Polanco hits for average and not much more (although I suppose he will score runs in that lineup), Don't count me in the Bourn camp- not sold on him either.
Pitching is good with a lot of upside, but no true ace to start the season with. I like your late round closers- Soria, Soriano, and Ryan are all going to prove to be valuable mid to late round picks.
1. I like both Howard and J. Roll. J. Roll will be very helpful in steals. I have a problem with drafting two players on the same team though. 2. OF is tight - Rios great all around, Mark is only thing on Balt, and Manny is playing for a K and actually worked out in the o-season 3. Power will be fine 4. I like your 2B -- Good average 5. I think your first 3 pitchers are good -- Especially if YG comes through; also you have Maine which is a nice 4-5. Smotlz is always underrated. And Meche is not tooo bad.
Thanks for the help with my team...now: After reading a couple of replies, people are thinking you need more speed. NOT. You will soon realize Bourn shall provide you with tons of speed and you might have to drop JJ Hardy bc of that. I like that you didnt over pay for relievers. Your SP are awesome! many people will tell you that you need a solid Ace...no you dont. Pitching IMO is all about averages (ERA, WHIP, k/9, etc). If you got 3 solid starters, then you should be good to go, as you do (smoltz, gallardo, and CY), plus you also got a great #4 starter in Maine. I would keep your team as it is. Your offense should be top 3 for sure and your pitching top 4 AT WORST! so no need to worry. Keep an eye out on the WW for solid young arms to add to your staff so you dont have to trade offense for pitching!
