Im sure its been done numerous times, but what are the best one season fantasy performances in history. (lets say post-1920 just to avoid the dead ball era)
I know Gooden in 1985 was off the charts.

From my recollection, Ruth's 1921 and maybe 1923 numbers were actually better.

From your recollection? You have a great memory for someone that old!

If you're going by 5X5 scoring, A-Rod's 1998 season would be up there:
123 runs, 124 rbi, 42 hr, 46 sb, .310 from the SS position.
Of course Bonds in 2001 wasn't too shabby:
129 runs, 137 rbi, 73 hr, 13 sb, .328.
Some old schoolers...
Hack Wilson in 1930:
146 runs, 191 rbi, 56 hr, 3 sb, .356.
Babe Ruth in 1921 (This would probably have to be the best since 1920):
177 runs, 171 rbi, 59 hr, 17 sb, .378
