people seem to be hating on this article (2.68 rating i think ). Personally i like it. BigHort hits on a lot of good points. My one criticism is the structure of the article. The Do and Do Nots are intermixed randomly it seems. A better structure might have delivered the point more effectively...

Still, all valid points, but things I've heard before (except the Harden thing, have to put that in my notes...). It could be that the people who have read it so far are of the more experienced ilk. This seems to be meant more for those that haven't been doing this for years.

Great article, Hort- I give it 5 stars. I especially like this blurb-

DO NOT draft Rich Harden. I don’t care how good he is, or how filthy his stuff is; the guy’s thrown less than 75 innings in the last two seasons combined. Let him be somebody else’s headache, and if he somehow makes it through the year injury free, shake his owner’s hand for having the stones to do something as stupid as draft him in the first place.

I imagine the ranking is lower because so far it's only been read by the regular bunch of misfits who frequent this site.. most of us know all this stuff already. I think this article is geared more towards the fantasy baseball noobs who will be descending on this site in droves in the next few months- and it's a direct hit for that audience.

Thanks guys, and yes, this was definitely gears to more of the influx of new players who I imagine are joining the Cafe as the season approaches. pp, you can draft Rich Harden in any league you and I happen to be in, I won't fight you for him

I wish h0rt wrote this last year and I wouldn't have drafted Rich Harden in the 7th round.
