I'm guessing you're right. The Cubs should realize that this circus isn't helping Cruz, either.

I've been assuming (and hoping) that Prior will replace Bere, who has been abyssmal this season. Cruz has pitched well, despite being 0-7. He hasn't been so great the last two outings, but he certainly hasn't pitched like an 0-7 pitcher.

The Prior watch continues. What SHOULD be the concern is the fact that the Cubs AREN'T hitting.

All they talked about was protection for Sosa. Well they got McGriff and Alou. What a waste so far. McGriff is trying to figure out his retirement checks instead of his batting average and Alou is probably paying rent in his doctor's office. I am excited about Prior, but unless the Cubs start to produce, he will only get frustrated.

The Cubs GM and the Rangers GM must just sit around and say, "Well on paper I look like a genius."
