Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers named former third baseman and five-time All-Star Tim Wallach as hitting coach on Tuesday.

The 46-year-old played 17 seasons in the big leagues with Montreal, Los Angeles and California. His career highlights include 260 career homers, 1,125 RBI and three Gold Gloves.

"Tim is a quality baseball man and a quality human being," said manager Jim Tracy. "I am excited about him joining us and working with our ballplayers."
