My ex-fiance loved How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. See if you can get a bootleg copy of P.S. I Love You, which my girlfriend loooved. The Notebook is the easiest choice, possible; but you can't go wrong with it.

I'll admit that I even like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, it's not bad for a chick flick.

The Princess Bride may be a little outdated (not the humor or the story, but the set design/special effects/etc.), so if you're looking for something more contemporary I'd go with The Notebook as others have said.

I thought Garden State was a pretty good date movie. If anything, it has garden on the title.

I thought so too, but my wife really didn't like it.

The Princess Bride is a great movie, and if your girl hasn't seen it that's a great "surprise" choice. Otherwise you really can't go wrong with The Notebook.

yeah we actually watched the Notebook together a couple of years ago. She liked it a lot. I'm going to have to do some research on this Princess Bride, i don't think i've ever heard of it. I'm going to the movie store in a couple hours so any more suggestions would be great. Also i know we have a couple of people on this board who enjoy cooking. I have a nice bottle of Chardonay for Friday and have been looking for recipes to pair with it. If anyone has some suggestions for that feel free to send them my way. As of right now i'm thinking that with the Chardonay a salmon or light chicken dish would go well.
