In a 5x5 league when should the 1st pitcher be taken? Pick 1,2,3,4,5......

Whenever your rankings show a pitcher as the best available player left.

pretty accurate statement.
Don't pigeon hole yourself into taking any player just to fill a position by any certain round. If you are in need of pitcher, and if there is one near the top of your list then go for it.

Come on Xei, let's use Pigeon Hole correctly!! Grammar check! Also, to answer more specifically, probably around the end of round 1. By the pigeon hole principle, since there are about 6-9 players better then the best pitcher, you'll want to make that pick around 7-10.
