RSS Feeds

Postby RugbyD » Mon Feb 25, 2008 5:25 pm

I just started using Google Reader today and I'm pretty pumped about the whole RSS thing. I like Reader aside from the inability to change font & frame sizes (i'm sure they'll get to it). Does anybody have any tips or suggestions on how to make the most of my RSS experience? I recall Bwanna talking about feedity.com for non-RSS sites, but that's about it.

Why do I want to use RSS? How will it make my life better? I'm interested...

if you regularly visit multiple sites each day, RSS feeds allow you to aggregate everything nice and neat in one place that updates as new items are posted to the respective sites. right now i have stuff streaming in from:
Baseball America
Baseball Prospectus
Hardball Times
WSJ
Financial Times
Forbes
reason
The Economist
and some others

and on the larger sites, mostly new-related, you can get feeds from very specific areas of the site rahter than just anything that shows up

Cool. I just set up Google. It'll take some tinkering, but it's essentially a one-stop shop for news if you set it up right, right? ;-D

I used to like CNET Newsburst, but as time had gone on, the updates for some of the featured news feeds were few and far between. I use Google Reader, but use it once in a blue moon, though it makes life a lot easier to keep tabs on all the news I'd otherwise miss.
