Treme is a great show too. It started off slow in season 1 trying to build the aftermath of Katrina and trying to fit a ton in, but the main characters are now fully developed and it's turning into one of the best shows on TV.

I'm midway into season 1 and I like it so far, I'm going to refrain from going through this thread because I assume there are spoilers throughout. As I said, I like it so far and many people (whose opinions I respect) both on this forum and some of my friends swear by it, looking forward to getting through it

Despite some disappointment with how everything played out in the final season, this still ranks as my favorite show ever and Omar is by far the best television character of all time.

I totally agree. I'm not sure The Wire is my favorite show ever, but it's right at the top of the list. Omar was awesome though and is the television character of all time. For me, the final season in general was fine. It was the last few episodes that were a letdown.

Oh, and the best scene in The Wire is where McNutty and Bunk are reinvestigating the crime scene of that girl, only using variations of the word F***.

Politics part is so boring
Police parts are alright
Streets/kids in school is awesome
