# of weeks/matchup in playoffs

I believe Yahoo has the playoffs set up to where 6 teams make it no matter what (can't stand that the # is not customizable), but the first two rounds of playoffs are one week while the championship match is two weeks long (which we like a lot). We're switching to ESPN due to our leagues being keeper leagues, and ESPN let's you set the # of teams to reach the playoffs (very nice), but it looks like every playoff matchup has to be either 1 or 2 weeks long (versus all being 1 week except the championship being 2). Does anyone know how to setup the playoffs in ESPN like this?

If they can only be 1 or 2 weeks each, what is your opinion on how long each matchup should be?

My league uses 2 weeks / playoff matchup. It takes 6 weeks to finish the playoffs, but I feel that it gives a more accurate champion, rather then 1-week wonders.

Furthermore, Sportsline doesn't have an option for 2-week playoff matchups, so the commish has to workaround the problem.

Edit: I see that ESPN allows 2-week matchups w/o commish overriding, so that's even better.

I know this problem, as I've seen it myself. My regular season is 21 weeks, and my playoffs are a combined four. I have Two Rounds of playoffs, each of which are two weeks (obviously meaning four teams make my playoffs). Unfortunately, you cannot make one playoff series one week while making another playoff series two. It would be very ideal though, as then I could have six teams in the playoffs and give the top seeds first round byes.

As I said above, my playoffs are two rounds at two weeks each. I think it's best to have two week playoffs, just in case a team has an off week, or a week that was just off the charts.

Thanks guys. With 12 teams, i'm doing 3 divisions of four, with each division winner and 3 wildcard teams making the playoffs. 1 and 2 seeds get byes, each playoff round will be two weeks...two weeks just sounds better then one week.
