Yahoo and CBS have posted the latest average auction values from fantasyauctioneer.com. I was looking at the numbers, and one jumped out at me: James Shields going for an average of $14, which is the same as Zambrano. That dollar figure doesn't seem too out of whack, but it makes him the #18 starting pitcher in the list, which is significantly higher than any other ADP or ranking list I've seen. What to make of that?
To me, it means the drafters that ended up being used for these AAVs are a lot smarter than those owners being used in the ADP results! Zambrano is overrated once again this year, and i guess not enough people think Shields is for real. But a 5.1 K/BB ratio, including a K/9 of 7.7, tell me all i need to know about Shields. Combined with his Minor League record that backs up the Major League performance, and you have a performance as real as it gets.
I can't even count all the warning signs with Zambrano, and i have no idea what the continued fascination with him is about. He's become the new Barry Zito, being drafted solely due to name value.
You need to be signed into Yahoo and your probably not in his league, which is where he obtained the link from.
To find the average costs of players on Yahoo simply click "Update your player values" on the league homepage, then "Edit my values" and you will see a sortable column with average costs for each player.

Just to avoid confusion, I believe what you're looking at on our site are not average auction values, but default auction values. These are based on expert opinion, and not user data.
Looks like someone clicked on one of those "Similar Topics" links at the bottom of the page, which are almost never similar (something that should go into the Cafe Improvements forum/thread)
