I'm a new guy.
We have played head-head last three years. We are switching to roto style this year.
What categories do you suggest for roto baseball?
Here is what I am thinking
Pitching
W, S, SO, ERA, WHIP
Hitting
HR, RBI, SB, RS, H.
Thinking Avg. may be better than hits.
Opionions?
Thanks.

I like On Base Percentage better than Average or Hits.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

Standard categories, and probably best for newbies are...
Runs, HRs, RBIs, SBs, Ave
Wins, Saves, ERA, WHIP, Ks
if you want to get a little more advanced, then replace Ave with OBP.
Otherwise stick to what's most popular.

Average is more fun because it varies so much, but people like to act sophisticated and use OBP. It can be argued that it's better because it's easier to predict, but, whatever you like. Hits probably isn't the greatest category.
