A solid lefty is hard to come by. Hampton should be a great addition to the Braves rotation, as long as he stays healthy. I don't see how his performance would come as a surprise in spring training. He had a couple of years where he was one of the best lefties in the game. The surprise will be if he makes it through the season healthy. They are already concerned with his hamstring on his landing leg in February and he's had two surgeries on his throwing elbow. Wait until the season starts to take a toll on him. I like Hampton and would like to see him come back from his injuries and pitch well, but unless he takes some injury recovery tips from Andy Pettite I don't see him lasting past the all star break with out being shut down a couple of times.
