Both will put up solid numbers and hopefully be more consistent this year than last. I've also been trying to grab Drew later on if he's still there as I think he will improve on his numbers from last year.

The thing with Khalil is that there's time during the season where he pretty much becomes WW material.

Can't argue that, but that's why I hope for the consistency this year. Overall I can't help but like the idea of 25+ HR and 95+ RBI for my SS, especially knowing I can get that in 14th or 15th rounds. His avg and K's kill me in my league, but if I have a few guys who are .300+ hitters, I' be willing to take the risk on him. Also why I like Drew as a fallback...

Tier 1: Hanley, Reyes, Rollins (Rollins wont repeat)
Tier 2: Jeter, Guillen, Tulowitski, Tejada (Tejada is way overrated)
Tier 3: Furcal, Young, Renteria (ERent is in this tier easily,)
Tier 4: Greene, Hardy, Cabrera (Hardy has a lot of upside)
Tier 5: Escobar, Drew, Peralta, Lugo, Theriot (A few decent options)

I think you are putting too much thought into 1 position

I don't think I'm putting too much thought into it, I just found it odd that this is the only position where I had this gut reaction. Thanks to all for the comments.,. should help me look at it a bit deeper.

For the later round guys I'm actually a Lugo proponent. 10 HRs or so with 20-30 steals and a .280 avg (if he bounces back). I'll take that over a low BA with 25+ HRs in Greene.

Lugo should be a great source of SB's and Runs late in the draft. He's hitting 9th this year, so if he gets on base a little more, he should do okay hitting ahead of Ellsbury, Pedroia, Papi and Manny. I expect his avg to improve to the .265/.270 range while also bringing up his obp in the process.

Maybe I should say that I "pray" that he does this... :-?

Wow - funny that I think 3B is one of the easiest positions to wait on and get a decent value later in the draft, with Gordon, Fields, Encarnacion, and Kouzmanoff all going after the 12th round. I don't see those types of players at SS.
