Does my league favor the hitters?

Postby Alcooo » Fri Feb 22, 2008 6:38 pm

I have a H2H points league. I'm nervous as to if my league favor the hitters (or the pitchers) to an aspect that will make my league stink.

Hitting
Singles (1B) 1 Doubles (2B) 2
Triples (3B) 3 Home Runs (HR) 4
Walks (BB) 1 Runs Scored (R) 1
Runs Batted In (RBI) 1 Stolen Bases (SB) 1
Strikeouts (K) -1 Intentional Walks (IBB) 1
Hit by Pitch (HBP) 1 Caught Stealing (CS) -1

Pitching
Innings Pitched (IP) 3 Earned Runs (ER) -2
Wins (W) 10 Losses (L) -5
Saves (SV) 5 Strikeouts (K) 1
Hits Allowed (H) -1 Walks Issued (BB) -1
Hit Batsmen (HB) -1

My league starts 1 C, 1 1B, 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 OF, 1 UTIL and 4 SP and 3 RP, combined with 4 bench spots.

Is my league doomed to favor the hitters or the pitchers to a point that a team could just stack up on one of the two and dominate?

Without running the numbers on the entire league it looks ok. I checked fielder vs santana Who under 5x5 were 9 and 10 last year. And they had basically the same amount of total points.

Thank you for your input.. I made a big mistake with Fantasy Football last year (making QB Touchdown Passes 6 points instead of 4), which led to a league dominated by Quarterbacks. 8 of the leagues top 10 scorers were QBs. I dont want that to happen again.

Download the final stats from last year for hitters and pitchers, import them into excel, then run the numbers on everyone. It should only take a few minutes. Then look at the numbers for both the hitters and pitchers compared to eachother.

And, in the true spirit of the "Stupid Question", where can one download the final stats from last year?
