My Keeper League shaking things up, input needed

Postby biffy44 » Fri Feb 22, 2008 2:07 pm

I'm the commish of a 12 team H2H keeper league. We have just decided to make some changes, and start fresh this year. One rule change made is that from now on owners sacrifice the Draft Pick in which the Keeper was taken. I know a lot of Keeper leagues use this rule. We are all new to it, so we have come up with questions regarding it. Your input/insight is greatly appreciated.

We have large rosters (12 reserves) so our draft is going to be 35 rounds. We also have a 6 man minor league roster.

Should each keeper just be the loss of that round pick each year kept? or should it progress each year kept?

If progressive, just 1 round each year?

If I keep a minor leaguer who outperforms AB or IP requirements, what draft pick do I sacrifice?

If I obtain a player from another team via trade, and I keep him. But he's in the same round my other keepr is in. What happens?

Same goes with Free Agent Pickups, sacrifice the 35th pick?

Like I said, I am completely new to these ideas, we have had this league going for 10 years and now, I think good changes are happening to make it better. I just don't know how other leagues do it.

Our league is probably very different from most yours because of the size of each roster.

Any input from your experiences or any input at all is greatly appreciated.
