I ran the numbers and sure enough the middle-tier closers were about on par with the second-tier SPs (the one's just after the elite guys go). I ranked all pitchers together, tallied projected points, tiered and drafted from that.
It lowered SP value and bumped the middle-tier closers up a ton. I was drafting 5th-6th round value closers in the 9th-11th rounds. I think I ended up with 1 SP and 7-8 closers to fill 7 pitching spots.
I dominated.
The next season the league changed rules slightly in that there was a max/min on how many SPs and RPs you could start.Hey at least they recognized the issue and adapted the rules to make it more fair (how you're supposed to handle it) instead of whining about it during my first year.

I decided I was going to take all hitting, 2 or 3 starters, and the rest closers. I am able to start any combo of 7 P. I know I obviously have no SP, but it's all about points. The closers will get me the points I need and my stacked lineup will take care of the rest. Plus I could always swing a deal for an ace. What do you guys think?
