Overall I like this team, you should be competitive the whole year. I might try and trade a RP for a SP, but other than that Very Nice team.

Where do I need to improve?

Postby jaroche24 » Tue Feb 17, 2004 3:13 pm

I was thinking SBs. Others have said starting pitching. I plan to wait and see if any of my RPs will lose their job in spring training. If one does I will use that roster spot to rotate SPs based on favorable matchups.

I appreciate any input.

You won't lead your League in SB, but you have a nice mix to keep you in the upper half, with Abreu (approx 20 SB), Reyes (25), Hunter (10), Renteria (20) and Giles (15).

Trade to upgrade?

Postby jaroche24 » Wed Feb 18, 2004 12:27 am

I am considering trading...

SS Renteria
OF Hidalgo
P MacDougal

FOR

2B Soriano
P Willis

Not sure if he will accept this but it is worth a try.

He offered this before I counter with the aforementioned offer...

SS Renteria
OF Anderson
P Isringhausen

FOR

2B Soriano
P Willis
3B Hillenbrand

I declined this offer. I can't deal three of my top players for, pretty much, Soriano.

I want to do a three for two trade so that I can free up a roster spot.

I agree with that. Get another starter and you should do fairly good.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

If the trade is accepted. Who you go with, a SP, RP, or OF with the open slot? Encarnacion is available as well as Konerko and Byrd. Pitchers that are available include D. Wells, K. Wells, J. Speier, D. Riske and K. Ishii.

David Wells and Juan Encarnacion. Although all the hitters are close together.

I'd go with Konerko or Byrd and Wells. Encarnacion is playing in Dodgers Stadium and that isn't all that friendly.

Barry Bonds for US president.
