I am in a 12-team 6x6 Sporting News.Com head to head league.
I accidentally signed up for a list draft league (usually I like to live draft), but here is what I got. The pitching is a HUGE work in progress, if you have suggestions on who I should go after, let me know Please.
Initial suggestion - clean your post up. It is really difficult to sort through your team.
Catcher - weak. Pierzynski isn't much more than an inconsistent fantasy catcher at this point. Keep an eye on other catchers and upgrade ASAP.
1b - Good 2b - Decent with Kinsler 3b - Money SS - ......Lugo.........Your hurting majorly here. He can bounce back, but you can do better. OF - Looks okay. I'm not a big fan of Burrell, but backing him up with Young and Hermida is a good start. - Ortiz is great - Phillips is great - Konkerko is good depth
Pitching - Outside of Webb, your starting staff is god-awful. Get rid of Wakefield and find a better starter. Hoffman, Lidge, Isgringhausen are solid closers, and Accardo should save a few. If holds are important, you need Broxton and Accardo. I would probably dump Gordon and pick up another SP, as well as Schilling. Lester is decent.
Guys to get rid of - Harris, Nady, Schilling, Gordon, Crisp. Improve your SP first and foremost. Look for a catcher upgrade via wwire. You HAVE to improve that starting staff are you are going to finish dead last, despite several offensive studs.
I am attempting to trade for some starting pitching as we speak. I have a lot of closers and the draft screwed people as far as relievers go so I should be able 2 upgrade a little. C is tough because there is not much out there.. What ab Paulino or Piazza or Estrada.. those are the only C's onthe WW. Also, the SP is tough cause there is not much on the WW.. not much at all.. and about Harris, you dont think he will do well?
Harris could do well, but is he worth hanging on to at this point? Lugo is really a no. 2 option, but he is better than Harris at this point. If he rebounds, he should be fine at SS. The question is....will he rebound? Your obvious need is SP, not a backup SS, so getting rid of Harris is a no-brainer. I would try and pick up SP ASAP. Pierzynski is what he is, a middling catcher/fantasy player. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as he is a decent fantasy option, but if you see an obvious upgrade in the near future - POUNCE!
Looks like you already know you need to upgrade your pitching, so I wont bug you w/ that one. I also have AJ, I'm a sox fan and I know last year was kinda craptacular for him, I think he will be fine this yr though. I like your depth at 1B and I also like Figgons since he has decent avg and can steal bags. Clean up the pitching and you will be OK IMO.
