In a 5X5 Roto keeper how should these Fattys be valued? Ortiz, Fielder, and Howard. Personally I like Prince. David's age and weight concern me especially with that bad knee and DH eligibility. Howard's K's and awful batting average scare me and I loved Prince's 2nd half. This guy is only getting better! (and fatter) What do you buddies think?
I think Fielder is a better option long term but I think Howard has a better chance to hit the 45-50 hr range this year. I dont question Fielder's power, but its only his third year and hes only done it once. What makes you so sure he wont regress to the high 30s range? I'm not saying I think thats what will happen, I'm just saying some catious skepticism goes a long way.
That being said I dont really think Howard is a "fatty". Fielder weighs more and is shorter than howard. Also, interestingly Ortiz is only listed as 230 lbs, for some reason I dont really believe that...
It's not fair to say Howard's avg is terrible. He was hurt about half the year and hit .268. I guess we forgot that he hit .313 the year before and .288 in half a season in 05? Nothing terrible about that. It's not like Prince is hitting over .300 so I don't see a big difference there. With a healthy J-Roll and Chase, Howard is going to be a monster.
Hal·la·day, n. 1. every fifth day in Philadelphia. 2. a day of rest for the bullpen. 3. innings eater. 4. doc. 5. ace.

I agree, I would take Howard first too. He has the highest HR potential and Rollins and Utley on base for him.
However, for redraft, I'll take Ortiz over both of them. Even with a "down" year last season, I say he arguably had the best one out of all three considering his .332 average. He only hit 35 bombs to Fielder's 50, but had more runs, similar RBIs, and hit 44 points higher. Give me a healthy Ortiz over any of the other two.
