If their rotation and Chipper Jones stay healthy, they will definetly be in the mix. Should be an interesting race between the Mets, Phils and Braves this year!
The Braves are definitely in this. I think they are a better team top to bottom than the Phillies. However, of the those three teams they also have the most question marks (not that the Phils and Mets don't have their fair share).
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Between Braves/Phils/Mets each team has a lot of question marks and a lot of sure things. It's very close in every corner. I think the Braves have the best rotation but the Mets have the better pitcher, the Mets also have the better lineup but the Phils have more pop IMO, I think the bullpens and injuries will decide how this division plays out,
“Never argue with a idiot, because first they will bring you down to their level. Then beat you with experience.”
The goal of the offense is certainly scoring runs but the home parks are a substantial factor. Look at the Phils, Mets and Braves runs scored on the road last year (442, 437, 433) and at home (450, 367, 377).

I think it is obvious that the Mets are the team to beat in the NL (on paper anyway). The Phillies may have a good offense...and some might think that the Braves have a better rotation (although I'd take the mets rotation any day of the week over Braves and Phils)...but neither team can put both offense and pitching on the field like New York.
But, there is a reason why they play the games instead of just anointing the winners...
