6x6 Keeper league with Holds and Doubles added. Here is my roster....How can I improve the team? I have an obvious dearth of RP, but I am unsure which players to look at moving/acquiring. One obvious solution is to drop Overbay to improve the relief, but I am probably going to wait on doing that until after spring training (or not at all....my reasoning being that Overbay can hit 50 doubles in a year and hit for average --> 2 big categories for my team).

Yes, you're a bit weak on RP, but... A. Soto and Weeks are the weakest spots in your whole lineup, and I actually like them this year. Very balanced offense, solid throughout. B. You have 2 aces in Santana and Felix(?). I think Wells could have a decent year and could be nice trade bait to sell him or one of your other OF if he can hit. Him and Damon are both roster-worthy...might wanna dangle one of them for some closer/MR help. Overall, I think your team is extremely potent.
thanks for the help on my end.... I would see if someone like Sherrill is available as I see him closing in BAL, your offense is set, ur depth on the bench will help you.... I would say to watch the WW and ST to find your RP that you need.. other than that nice squad.
What I post is my OPINION, I have never said I was a expert, you asked for help, I gave you my help.
i expect Weeks to have a good year. Your C is a little weak. I would also look to improve your relief staff. I like your pick with Accardo.. solid source of Holds.
FIRST I'D DROP CARPENTER WHO AT BEST WILL NOT PLAY UNTIL MID JUNE PROBABLY MORE LIKE SOMETIME JULY AND EVEN THEN MAY NOT BE HIS OLD-SELF, AND AFTER WHAT WEEKS DID TO ME LAST YEAR I'LL HAVE A HARD TIME TRUSTING HIM TO START THE YEAR, BUT YOU DO HAVE UPTON YOU CAN EASILY THROW AT 2B AND I DO EXPECT WELLS TO BOUNCE BACK NICELY THIS YEAR SO BENCH WEEKS FOR NOW PUT UPTON AT 2B AND WELLS IN OF, AND OBVIOUSLY COULD USE ONE MORE CLOSER AND ALL I CAN SAY IS WATCH FOR INJURIES AND WAIVERS B/C YOU REALLY CANT AFFORD TO TRADE MANY OF YOUR OTHER PLAYERS TO GET ONE
My league has 2 DL spots, so Carpenter is worth the spot until I need to drop him.
I think you are underrating Weeks a bit, but I am content to move Upton into second if he is slumping/hurting and rolling with an OF of Wells/Rios/Damon/Young/Bourn....As for not having depth.....I think I have tons of offensive depth in a 12 team league. I thought I backed up my IF and OF positions nicely - 4 1B, 2 2b, 2 SS, only 1 3B but he is a stud, 5 legit OF with a speed guy.....
Does anyone have ideas on who to target or who to make available on my team?
Sick Hitting!! Dont worry about soto, his late pick will work out for you. You desperately need a bona-fide closer, and you may want to look at changin out ur SS, im not a big guillen fan, but you make up for it with rickie weeks. Nice Squad
This team looks pretty solid and balanced, which is the key to winning in fantasy. If your team can compete on both sides of the ball then you are going to go places in your league.
To improve your team, one thing I may try to do is trade Damon or Wells to a team that needs immediate OF help for the start of the season for either a closer or a holds guy, since your OF and Util spots are already set. I actually think Soto at Catcher is pretty solid...I wouldn't trade him until you see how he does adjusting to the big leagues. Even if he starts off slow, I'd give him some time. Word is this kid is the real deal.
I would probably just wait and keep a very close eye on closer situations and pick one up you can. A closer is bound to get hurt or pitch himself out of his job. I think you have a very good team overall.
