Heads up for you guys. My buddy is real close with Pearce and talks to him pretty much everyday. Anyway, Pearce was told by his agent that it is between him and Nady in RF going into the season. They want to move Nady so he can play, but have not gotten any offers for him. If they can't move Nady and Pearce does not go off in ST, a la Hamilton last season, they will send him to AAA because they want to get him ABs and don't want him just riding the pine. if I hear anything more I will let ya know ;-D

Interesting. Thanks for the inside info Deeray ;-D

For what it's worth, I checked out the depth charts over at Baseball Prospectus.

They have Nady getting 70% of PT in RF, and 10% each for Doumit, McClouth, and Pearce.

It would be nice if they can move either Bay, Nady, or LaRoche to make room for Pearce. ;-D

Looks like they want to sign LaRoche to a long term deal. I am thinking they want the OF to be Bay, McCutcheon, and Pearce

Pearce wants to play, so I am sure he feels the same way ;-)

yea the PIT OF situation sounds like a mess. i thought mclouth deserved more PT towards the end of the year when he was hot but tracy kept sitting him. both mclouth and pearce look like they can be decent fantasy players with power and speed combo, but it seems like neither of them might get any playing time :-t . at least tracy is gone.

It's too bad that Pittsburgh is such an abysmal franchise and at the 3 positions that they actually have quality regulars, they have a prospect that can rake knocking on the door, similar to the Dmitri Young/Nick Johnson situation at 1b in Washington. He should definitely get the PT though because he's ready and the Pirates should try drawing fans into their amazing ballpark.
