Who are the best 5 tool players at their position for 2008?
C- Russell Martin 1B- Derek Lee 2B- Brandon Phillips, B.J. Upton SS- Hanley Ramírez, Jimmy Rollins 3B- Alex Rodriguez, David Wright, Ryan Braun OF- Matt Holiday, Grady Sizemore, Carl Crawford, Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Beltran, Bobby Abreu, Nick Markakis, Curtis Granderson, Tori Hunter, Eric Byrnes, Vernon Wells, Alex Rios
Well heres how I would rank them, fairly similar to yours.
Derek Lee is by no means a five tool player.
C: Russel Martin 1B: Carlos Guillen 2B: Brandon Phillips, BJ Upton, Ian Kinsler 3B: Alex Rodriguez, David Wright, Ryan Braun SS: Jimmy Rollins, Hanley Ramirez OF: Grady Sizemore, Carl Crawford, Carlos Beltran, Alex Rios, Curtis Granderson, Bobby Abreu, Nick Markakis, Eric Byrnes, Corey Hart, Vernon Wells

Eh, this is a fantasy baseball board, we've manipulated the 5 tool label to refer to guys who contribute across all five of the standard offensive categories.

Probably best to then change the title to 5-category players.
Then, probably best to not include Byrnes (below .270 AVG) and Crawford (not enough HR).

He will hit 20 this year which makes him a 5 Cat Stud

If we're going on speculation rather than past history, I'd like to nominate Matt Kemp and his upcoming 20/20 season for this list.
he hit 18 in 2006, which was an increase every year since he got in the league. He hit 11 last season, but that was due to battling a wrist injury all year
This might be obvious, but Utley could steal 15-18 bases at anytime, making him a 5 category player in my book.
Tulowitzki and Holliday have "supposedly" been told they need to steal more this year. If they both add 5-7 steals to their previous totals, I would consider them.
Just saying....
