burning a DL spot for months to get a couple months might be worth only if you have multiple DL spots. if you have just 1, forget about it. you will need that DL spot for one of your active players.

Even with 1 slot it is worth it at draft time and then you simply dump him if it becomes a problem.

Even when he does come back i'm sure he'll be on a strict pitch count, which is very annoying when you need to make a desicion between him or another starter. Let someone else have that problem this year.

I would compare Carp this year to Pedro last year. I wouldn't bank on him for anything more than a couple of months. Not worth it in my opinion...

This is what I was thinking. People sat on Clemens and Pedro last year. Chris Carpenter will be on the DL for awhile, I'd rather just keep an eye on his rehab then commit to him being my DL player of the year.
